
Nut-Free Bites!
Perfect for the kid’s lunch box as these bites contain no nuts and should adhere to your schools policies around lunchboxes!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of SunButter (peanut/tree nut free alternative to peanut butter)
- 1/2 cup sultanas
- 1/2 cup currants
- 12 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of ground flax meal
- 1 cup of gluten-free rolled oats
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Line a baking sheet with baking paper and set aside
- Mix cinnamon, flax meal, oats and salt in a medium size mixing bowl
- Add in sultanas and currants then stir well
- Add SunButter, honey (or maple), and vanilla
- Mix ingredients all together until well combined
- Now form the mixture into bite size balls and then place on baking sheet
- Once complete, put the baking sheet into a freezer for approximately 30 minutes or until bites are firm
- Once time is up you can keep the bites in the freezer or move to fridge
